Today we launched our latest TV ad. Have you seen it yet?

Many people don’t know this, but I actually grew up in Jamestown in Guilford County, where I attended Ragsdale High School. That’s where I learned the values I still hold today.

After graduating high school, I went on to get my teaching degree at Catawba College in Salisbury and worked in business for almost 30 years.

In 1995, I became the youngest Mayor of Charlotte, having the opportunity to serve the people of the city for a record 14-years. As Mayor, I was proud to lead an ethical government that lowered the crime and tax rates. I gained valuable executive experience working with leaders of both parties to help turn the region into an economic powerhouse, implementing policies that helped the city add tens of thousands of net new jobs.

At a time when we have the 5th highest unemployment rate in the country, I believe it is time for new leadership and vision in North Carolina to fix our broken economy and broken government. If given the chance, it would be an honor and a privilege to serve as your next governor and help lead the North Carolina comeback.

I own a small furniture manufacturing business in High Point and I was pleased when Pat wanted to come learn more about my company and talk to me about his plan to fix our economy.

Under North Carolina’s current tax structure, owning a business in this state can be a struggle. I don’t want to leave and go somewhere cheaper because this is my home. I was so relieved when Pat outlined his plan and explained to me how it will help me stay here, produce here and continue to employ people in North Carolina.

When he visited, Pat spoke to each one of my employees and told them what a wonderful skill they had and what a great job they were doing. These are the same people who have seen their industry almost dry up in the state of North Carolina and many have been unemployed for years.

Pat gave my employees pride in themselves as well as a new sense of hope. We need to do all we can to get Pat McCrory elected and fix our economy.

Please take a minute to watch and share this video of Pat visiting my business: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CquX4sYcmw

I’m convinced that Pat is the right person to lead this state to a great comeback. Will you join me in supporting his campaign for Governor?

I had a great weekend spending time with NC troopers and their families at Tweetsie Railroad. What an honor to receive their endorsement. I told them that as Governor, public safety will be one of my administration’s top priorities. As a former Mayor, I’ve gained hands on experience dealing with law enforcement issues. I firmly believe that North Carolina needs a strong leader with hands on executive experience to turn our government around.
